National Education Day- Pre Nursery

13 / Nov

To commemorate National Education Day (11th November), our Pre-Nursery children engaged in a joyful storytelling session, which encourages nurturing values of care, respect, and kindness in early learners.

The story narrated was “The Squirrel, The Rabbit, and The Nut”, a simple and heart-warming tale that highlights the importance of giving back what does not belong to us. Through vivid expression and lively interaction, children were encouraged to listen carefully, observe characters, and reflect on the message.

In the story, a little rabbit finds a nut and later realizes that it belongs to a squirrel. The rabbit chooses to return it politely. This act of honesty and kindness helps both friends feel happy and strengthens their bond. Later, the fairy came and gave a lot of nuts to rabbit for its honesty.

The children enjoyed the narrative, repeating key phrases, and even pretended to nibble nuts like the characters, making the session fun and memorable.

Objective

• To help children understand the value of honesty and respecting others’ belongings.
• To develop listening comprehension and early social skills through group storytelling.
• To encourage children to express emotions and thoughts through words and gestures.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, children were able to:
• Identify the characters and recall the main idea of the story.
• Demonstrate the moral: “We must return things that are not ours.”
• Participate joyfully in group interaction, showing increasing confidence.
• Display caring behaviour in classroom situations.

The session concluded with happy smiles, thoughtful sharing moments, and joyful peer bonding. Our young learners continue to grow not only in knowledge but in values that build character and empathy.
